Understanding Rooms and Locations

To help you organize listings correctly - Occasion gives you the ability to assign unique rooms and locations to each event.

What is a Location?

A Location is the place where the event is happening. We support different types of locations:

  • Physical: This type of location has a physical address, where customers come to attend the event. This is the address where the customer can drive themselves to, or take a Lyft or an Uber.
  • Mobile: If your business is a mobile business and does not have a physical address, use this location type.
  • Virtual: Use this type if you are events are online.

Note: Locations are customer-facing and visible to Customers.


What is a Room?

A Location can have multiple rooms, which allows for more than one event to occur at the same time at the same location. This is great for organizing your events into rooms at a business location.

Note: Rooms are for internal-use only and are not visible to Customers.
