Creating Bulk Promotions

"Bulk" promotions are basically, 100s if not thousands of coupons issued to customers where each coupon code is unique.

Some examples of bulk campaigns:

  1. "Daily Deals" like Groupon or LivingSocial
  2. Local Fundraising Campaign

When running a promotion on Occasion - you can start by

  1. Generating bulk coupon on Occasion
  2. Importing bulk coupons into Occasion

Generating Bulk Coupons On Occasion

  1. After logging into your account, click on the "Settings" tab on the top right, and from the drop-down select "Coupons".
  2. Click the "Create New Coupon" button on the top-right. Make sure the switch at the top-right corner is set to "Bulk On".
  3. Enter the name of the discount/promotion in the "Coupon Name" field (ex: Fall Groupon Promotions).
  4. Enter the discount, and select whether the discount is a percentage or a dollar amount.
  5. (Optional) Enter an amount in the "Revenue from Voucher" field if you wish to track how much money you make from voucher redemptions.
  6. Click the "Generate Coupons" button - enter the number of coupons (up to 5000) that you would like to generate.
  7. Set date validation (optional)
    1. If the coupons should only become valid after a specific date, set the "Valid From" date.
    2. If the coupons are valid forever, skip the "Add coupon expiration date" setting. Otherwise, activate it and set the appropriate date. Note: The coupon will expire at the time of day on the expiration date, corresponding to the time of day that it was created.
  8. Activate for specific Listings
    1. Select valid listings from the list and then, click the ">" button to make the Coupons active on those listings. Note: Hold the "Command/Control" key on your keyboard to make multiple selections.
    2. To enable the Coupon codes on all future listings, check the box to the right of "All future listings are also redeemable". 
  9. Click the "Create Coupon" button on the bottom of the page to create your Coupons.

Importing Bulk Coupons Into Occasion

  1. After logging into your account, click on the "Settings" tab on the top right, and from the drop-down select "Coupons".
  2. Click the "Create New Coupon" button on the top-right. Make sure the switch at the top-right corner is set to "Bulk On".
  3. Enter the name of the discount/promotion in the "Coupon Name" field (ex: Fall Groupon Promotions).
  4. Enter the discount, and select whether the discount is a percentage or a dollar amount.
  5. (Optional) Enter an amount in the "Revenue from Voucher" field if you wish to track how much money you make from voucher redemptions.
  6. Click the "Import Coupons" button - copy and paste codes making sure only one coupon code is on each line in the text field provided.
  7. Set date validation (optional)
    1. If the coupons should only become valid after a specific date, set the "Valid From" date.
    2. If the coupons are valid forever, skip the "Add coupon expiration date" setting. Otherwise, activate it and set the appropriate date. Note: The coupon will expire at the time of day on the expiration date, corresponding to the time of day that it was created.
