Set Up Your One-Time Art Experience

Setting up an art class in your Occasion workspace is simple. Whether you’re hosting a painting workshop or a pottery class, you’ll have everything organized and ready for your attendees in no time.

You will cover:



Access the Listing Editor

  1. Log in to your Occasion workspace.
  2. From your dashboard, click on "Listings" from the side bar menu.
  3. Select "My Templates" and click “Create listing” on the template titled "Use this for classes that meet one time.

Now, you’re in the Listing Editor, where you can start customizing your art class.


Enter Basic Class Information

Let’s start by filling in the important details about your art class:

  • Class Name: Choose a name that reflects the type of class you’re offering (e.g., “Intro to Watercolor” or “Beginner Pottery Workshop”).
  • Class Description: Provide a brief description of what attendees will learn (e.g., “Learn basic watercolor techniques to create stunning landscapes” or “Discover how to mold and shape your first pottery piece”). You can also use the AI tool for inspiration if needed.
  • Event Type: Select "Class" from the dropdown menu.
  • Checkout Style: Choose how you’d like your customers to book:
    • Old Checkout: A retro version of the checkout process—similar to the new layout but with an older, less refined design.
    • New Checkout: A modern, streamlined one-page design that brings all booking details together in a single view for a faster, more user-friendly experience.

Set Class Pricing

Make sure your class pricing is clear and easy to understand:

  1. Scroll down in the Listing Editor and click on "Add Question."
  2. Select “Fixed Attendee Pricing.” Enter the price per attendee (e.g., $60) and the maximum number of spots you can accommodate (e.g., 8 attendees ).
  3. Ensure your pricing reflects the value of the class.

Add Images

Adding appealing visuals can entice more students to sign up for your art class:

  1. Click the "Images" tab and then "Upload Images."
  2. Upload up to 5 high-quality photos that showcase your art studio, attendee projects, or materials they’ll use. If you don’t have images yet, feel free to use stock photos from Unsplash.
  3. Include photos of previous classes or finished art pieces to inspire potential attendees.

Schedule Your Class

Set up the date and time for your art class:

  1. On the "Time Slot" tab, click "+ Add New Time Slot."
  2. Select the date and enter the start and end times (e.g., Saturday, October 21st, 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM).
  3. Click "Save" to confirm your schedule.

If you're offering the same class on different dates, you can add multiple time slots.


Set Class Availability

Control how many people can join your art class:

  1. Go to the "Availability" tab.
  2. Enter the maximum number of attendees (e.g., 10 spots for a painting workshop).
  3. This ensures your class isn’t overbooked, allowing for more personalized instruction.

Build Your Roster

Gather all the necessary information from your attendees before they arrive:

  • In the "People" tab, find the "Attendee Questions" section.
  • Check the boxes for First Name, Last Name, and Age.
  • Click "Save Attendee Information" once you’ve made your selections.

Add Additional Pricing (If Required)

If you need to collect sales tax or collect a set percentage tip

  • Go to the "Additional Pricing" tab.
  • Enter your rate (e.g., 2%) and Occasion will automatically apply them to each booking.

Your art class is now live and ready for bookings! From here, go ahead and preview the listing🎉
