Enter Basic Event Information

Let’s start by filling in the essential details about your skating event:

  • Event Name: Choose a name that describes the skating event (e.g., “Beginner Skating 101” or “Disco Skate Night”).
  • Event Description: Provide a brief description of what attendees can expect (e.g., “Learn the basics of skating in a fun, supportive environment” or “Skate under the disco lights to your favourite tunes!”).
  • Checkout Style: Choose how you’d like your customers to book:
    • Old Checkout: A retro version of the checkout process—similar to the new layout but with an older, less refined design.
    • New Checkout: A modern, streamlined one-page design that brings all booking details together in a single view for a faster, more user-friendly experience.

Set Event Pricing

Clear pricing makes it easy for attendees to sign up:

  • Scroll down in the Listing Editor and click on "Add Question."
  • Select “Fixed Attendee Pricing.” Enter the price per skater (e.g., $25) and the maximum number of spots (e.g., 30 attendees).
  • Make sure your pricing reflects the value of the experience and any equipment or rentals you’ll provide.

Add Images

Great visuals can inspire potential skaters to join your event:

  • Click the "Images" tab and then "Upload Images."
  • Upload up to 5 high-quality photos that showcase your skating rink, previous events, or skaters in action. You can also use stock images from Unsplash if needed.
  • Adding images that show the atmosphere and fun of your rink can make your listing more engaging.

Schedule Your Event

Set up the date and time for your skating event:

  • On the "Time Slot" tab, click "+ Add New Time Slot."
  • Select the date and enter the start and end times (e.g., Saturday, November 10th, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM).
  • Click "Save" to finalize it.
  • You can add multiple dates if you plan to offer the event again.

Set Event Availability

Decide how many skaters can attend:

  • Go to the "Availability" tab.
  • Enter the maximum number of skaters (e.g., 50 spots for a themed skate night).
  • This helps ensure that your event doesn’t get overbooked, providing each skater with enough space.

Build Your Roster

Ensure you have all the information needed from your skaters before the event:

  • In the "People" tab, find the "Attendee Questions" section.
  • Check the boxes for First Name, Last Name, and Age.
  • Click "Save Attendee Information" once you’ve made your selections.

Add Additional Pricing (If Required)

If you need to collect sales tax or collect a set percentage tip

  • Go to the "Additional Pricing" tab.
  • Enter your rate (e.g., 2%) and Occasion will automatically apply them to each booking.
